  •     Well long time not to hear from me you probably think, sorry I've been lazy. Anyway I'm fine though I'm going to do something tomorrow that's a little uncharacteristic of me but it needs to be done, I'll tell you next time what it was about.  Anyway I figure I give you my thoughts on some stuff relating to politics.

I'm going to talk about the media and their own agenda when it comes to politics and why conservatives seem to have more validity than liberals now.  The media seems to veer off into subjects like the Natalee Holloway case(now two months old) forever and they don't give much coverage to politics itself in comparison.  Now there talking about a cruise ship death.  Politics to me is taking a back seat.  How much coverage of Iraq have I heard lately hardly any.  All the media seems to do is to denegrate the other side.  I mean while there is a liberal bias, the word liberal has become a dirty word.  All I hear about liberals are there loony leftists, and every liberal newspaper in America seems to be dishonest and only the conservative newspapers like the Washigntion Times, New York Post, and Wall Street Journal are credible newspapers.  Give me a break!  Both the New York Times and the New York Post have their own agenda and it's to denegrate the other side.  Honestly who takes the New York Times seriously anyway I don't.  But the New York Post is just as guilty they want to get back at the New York Times for their anti-Bush articles.  To me the conservative media is a stronger influence than the liberal media.  Granted neither is "looking out for me". The liberal media does have somewhat of a hatred towards the Bush administration.   Anyway back to the words liberal and conservative, I've never seen a word take more of a beating than liberal.  Maybe its because conservatives for years felt ignored, but due to the Ronald Reagan revolution, conservatives felt a proudness to be called a conservative.  Slowly but surely conservative became the in thing and liberals became the out.  While Bill Clinton was president for two terms, he wasn't a liberal, he was a moderate, and proved so when it came to issues like welfare reform.  So you never had a liberal president and liberalism didn't really shine.  While I'm not a fan of lot things that are liberal, I do respect what they stand for and what they believe.  If they would speak out aganist people like Michael Moore and bring Howard Dean back to earth, they might get back some of that respect back.  But they still shouldn't be disprespected, conservatives have some good ideals and stances but respect the other side. Please tell me why a liberal is any better than a conservative or vice versa.  In short liberalism has its good things and conservatism does as well and neither should be made a mockery of.  What bothers me about conservatives is they seem to be somewhat arrogant.  At this point if they do have a downfall blame it on their arrogance. When it comes to the media these human interest stories and I do feel sadness for the victims, I also feel a sadness that the American people also should hear more about the current issues of the day like Iraq, Supreme Court nominations, the economy, immigaration, and so forth.  Some shows ignore the human interest stuff, and stick with the politics but many more don't.

  • Very interesting post. you should come see my debate blog and express your opinions.

  • I couldn't disagree with you more, but I do respect your opinions.

Conservative media has been doing exactly what the liberal media has been doing. There are no differences between them. If you look at CNN, they have their regular news coverage and political shows. What does Fox News have? They have their regular news and political shows. Where's the difference? I watch both all the time just to compare. Conservative news does not impress me any more than liberal news does.

As for liberals being better than conservatives, they aren't. Nor are conservatives better than liberals. Political beliefs do not fully make the man/woman. I do want to tell you my problem with conservatives though. My main problem with conservativism, in general, is the heavy reliance on the bible. It seems that the bible has become increasingly powerful in the United States and it shouldn’t be. The bible should never elect a certain official (i.e. Bush). It should never interfere with governmental policies. It should never interfere with the government, period. Conservatives feel that Jesus should be incorporated into everything. That pisses me off to no end because many other religions occupy this country as well. I am not a Christian. I do not believe in God. I should not be force-fed bullshit from the bible. I should not have to live my life according to their bible. We don’t want prayer in school. We want science. We want an education. We want hardcore evidence of everything in this world. Many women want the right to choose without being called sinners and/or whores. Why are we expected to cater to them?

Aside from my different opinions pertaining to social issues, I have one last problem with conservatives. They do not really understand the meaning of Republicanism. They think that Republicanism is about being Pro-life, Pro-Jesus, anti-homosexual, and anti-liberal. Reality check! It isn’t. A true republican is all about money and power. A true republican is about working the poor to death on the cheapest wages they can pay. It is called big business and that is all real republicans are for. A prime example of a real republican is Carl Rove. He believes that companies should be able to hire many people and work them for a penny. He also believes that parents should throw their children into the work force as soon as they are able to talk. Now, I know many conservatives and they do not feel this way. That’s why we call conservatives Rinos.

Alright, enough. I could go on and on and on and on, but I think this is long enough. People are probably thinking that I am nuts. Good post.

  • Well there is one thing you must remember about conservatism...it generally is yesterday's liberalism. Liberals come out with new ideas; people don't like them....and then eventually the ideas become commonplace. As far as Iraq not being on the news much…what is there to report? “Iraq is a dangerous place today…and people are dying in the streets.” That’s pretty much the report every day.
