  •   Well in California Proposition 73 was defeated by about 5% (52.6%:  No  47.4%: Yes). Anyone surprised well maybe not California is a very liberal state.  I guarantee it would have passed in states like Texas, Alabama,  Mississippi, or my home state Florida.  What is it do you ask?  Well in essence it would've required  notification of the parent or legal guardian of an unemancipated, pregnant minor at least 48 hours before performing an abortion on the minor.  A Yes vote would've changed the California Constitution so it would require that a physician notify, with certain exceptions, a parent or legal guardian of a pregnant minor at least 48 hours before performing an abortion. That didn't happen so the No vote which was the result says minors would continue to receive abortion services to the same extent as adults.  Physicians performing abortions for minors wouldn't be subject to notification requirements.  Of course I disagree, though I do think 17 years old isn't what it used to be(there more mature), but a 13 or 14 year old I don't think so.  California I feel is in the wrong, but your going to get measures like this that wouldn't pass in most other states because there not as liberal as California.  By the way just because I mention liberal in a negative connotion several times doesn't mean I have anything aganist that ideology, I respect both liberal and conservative view points.  Not extreme ones though.

Here's just several things I thought I share about me.

-I think my most undervalued quality is my ability to help people with their problems.

-I'm a very stubborn at times.

-I hate it when people bullshit me about what they think of me.

-I once played Monty Hall from Let's Make a Deal when I was young.

    -I hate skiing(trust me I've tried).

-My favorite drink is Mountain Dew.

-I hate flying over water(don't ask why I know it's stupid).

Hope everyone has a good weekend and I'm really interested in what you think about Propostion 73.  Have fun and talk to you soon.

  • Personally, I think your position on this issue is perfectly fine. I would really like it if people would quit considering it a liberal/conservative battle though because it is NOT. It is a battle over confidentiality and where the line should be drawn. Many of the liberals I know share your opinion. For example, they believe that if a 16-year-old gets pregnant, the doctor should not have to expose this information to the parents for the simple reason that a 16 year old is capable of making that decision. However, a 12 year old should not be allowed to make such a vital decision. Parents should be informed of this information no matter what. Twelve-year-old girls are not mentally and physically mature enough to handle such a decision. I cannot argue with you on this one because I am there with you! I do not think anyone under 16 should be treated like an adult when it comes to abortion. A twelve year old should still depend on mommy and daddy to make decisions for them. Hell, I know I relied on my parents when I was that little, but by the time I was sixteen, I was making my own choices. I was establishing my own personality. Enough about this though lol. You get my point.

Anyway, sorry I have been ignoring xanga. Well, I have not really been ignoring it. I check it everyday for comments and stuff, but I have not gotten around to making an update. Plus, I bounce back and fourth between xanga and myspace. If you don't have a myspace, you should haha. I promise I will update soon though. I have just been busy with school and work. I have assignments upon assignments to do. It is actually driving me insane. Today and tomorrow will be the first two days of nothingness that I have had since school started (August). It's crazy. I know lol. Anywho, I hope all is well your way. Take care! :)

  • Mountain Dew?!?  I haven't had that in forever.  Come on, you gotta give it up to Dr. Pepper.  It's the best!

  • I agree with your position too, Mike. We were talking about in class and I think the age should be around 16. Any younger is just too young, and I think that a girl that young should have her parents notified. I didn't vote because I'm not a CA resident, but I probably would have voted it down, too.
