  • Hey all I hope all of you out there are doing well, I feel lousy. You know how I said last time I would share my dilemma, well I changed my mind, I don't know why, I guess I just feel in the pits that's why. It's nothing personal at all.  But if you want to know what it is you can ask(don't be shocked if it seems very minor to you).  Anyway lately I've been procrastinating big time, I guess as a person I do procrastinate.  So I came about an article that listed common reasons for why people procrastinate.

1)Perfectionism  2)Don't schedule definite time  3)Lack of confidence  4)Always wait until the last minute   5)Can't make decisions    6)Unrealistic goals   7)Don't know where to start   8)Priorites out of order   9)Lack of preparation   10)Lack of commitment   11)Depression

So are you a procrastinator?  Anyway some of the main reasons that would apply to me are #2, #4, #7, and #9.  I'm sure there may be a few more, but I would classify those as the main.  Anyway knowing me my mood will hopefully pass.  But I guess we all feel in the duldrums sometimes even if it's for minor things.  Hope you don't get depressed reading this god knows I would.

  • Hey all I bet all of you are done stuffing yourself with all the Turkey delights during the Thanksgiving holidays and all you're doing is relaxing and taking it easy.  You know I had a running joke I have that I may have mentioned to a few of you but I'll use it now.  I bet most of you stuffed yourself so much (you probably feel bloated) that you probably had to go to the gym the next day to work off the pounds you gained.  I know not very funny try harder.  I also bet this was a time to get away from the hectic schedule you have going at college and stuff.  It must be a welcome relief to most of you.  I bet most of you are sleeping now, well maybe snoring to.  Again I know not funny.  Anyway like I said I didn't eat much but I had a good Thanksgiving day. Again thank you very much for all the kind comments you made last time it meant alot! I got a Christmas tree to. Though I got a minor dilemma I'm going to have to deal with, with school coming but I'll talk about that next time.

  •  Ok, well since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving Day.  I know all of you are dreading this but since Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks(which I normally don't do at all), I want to give thanks to each of my subscribers individually for checking in here as often as they can. I hope none of you are saying awe gee thanks that's so sweet right now(your not are you?). Anyway here goes to:

1)Cari(my resident Republican):  Thank you for always keeping me on my toes politically and challenging me as well(I would like to think I do the same). Though we do agree on more issues than you think.  Plus talking college football with you is fun as well.  I always love our talks no matter what there on. And god knows we talk about a lot.

2)Lisa Pisano(Mrs Emotions): I call you that in the most complimentary style. Thank you for being there from the  very start and I always hope you don't burn yourself out. I always feel I can relate to you when it comes to talking about your emotions.  I always find it a challenge to figure out your poems, I hope I didn't make a complete fool of myself in figuring them out.  Anyway it's always a pleasure talking with you. I mean that sincerly. By the way did you ever send your letter to Bill Clinton?

3)Carola(aka Shrimpola): That is your really name, well it's the name I call you anyway. Thank you for always sharing your views and sharing them so bluntly.  I call you Mrs. Opioniated.  I love your joking manner, in that way I can relate with you. Our talks our great and informative. Continue to be you short and talkative.

4)Alexia(The Dancer):  Well it's what you want to be.  Anyway thank you for checking in when you can and just your talks in general.  The one thing I know with you, you always have a smile on your face in whatever situation you deal with.  Continue being you.

5)Lisa(The Musician):  Anyway we don't check in that much, but thank you when you do. Your my fellow Florida homesister. And only you can really relate to what happens down here in South Florida. For that I thank you.

6)Deidra(The Happiest Girl Alive): Ok, I may be going overboard. But thank you for getting to know about you the person and all that goes on in your sorority life.  In the short time that we've spoken I always find you to have a happy outlook on life.  I know your blunt, but I haven't seen a lot of that(yet anyways).  Anyway I thank you also for checking in when you can and hope your life continues to go as planned.

I bet alot of you feel like slapping me in the back of the head because I'm going overboard and I'm being a sap, right. Go ahead I know your tempted.  Well I can only guess who you are and I don't blame you.  But I just feel like saying thank you to each and everyone of you who checks in as much as you can. If I'm charged with being a sap around Thanksgiving, I'm guilty as charged.  Anyway what I said about each of my subscribers is from the heart and I hope each of have a great Thanksgiving and don't be afraid to share what Thanksgiving with you tomorrow is going to be all about.  Anyway to my fellow homesisters peace out.

11 year old Carlie Brucia who was found raped, kidnapped, and strangled by a piece of crap(and I'm being nice to crap) Joseph Smith got her first part of justice by having him be found guilty of those charges.  And now is the second part when he gets sentenced to death and pays the ultimate price and justice for her will ultimately be resolved.  Hopefully the trial will be quick so we can get rid of him and thankfully he will be in the electric chair soon enough.  Unlike states like California and New Jersey where it takes forever to sentence the criminal to death in Florida it is very swift.

Everyone knows the political debate going on in Washigntion about the Iraq War it is getting very ugly between the two parties.  It sometimes borders on disgusting.  Anyway in December there supposed to have elections there so something's gotta give.  Is it getting to the point that we need to say we gotta to hang tough for our brave troops or is it just hopeless?  Do you want to see a plan?(I would like to, not immediate withdraw of  the troops, but a plan from Bush). If he can't lay out a clear and concise plan then what does it say about this President.  That's what I think.  Tell me what you think, am I so far off base, am I making sense, what is it that YOU think of the situation?  By the way on another footnote, I'm so freaking bored right now.  Anyway talk to you soon.

  •   Ok, now Miami is #3 in both polls due to Alabama losing Saturday to LSU, we're slowly moving on up as they say.  Now the tough part USC and Texas don't have the tough schedule the rest of the way, so I have to hope for an upset.  You know what would be interesting would be a Miami vs Texas Rose Bowl(of course that would have to take UCLA upsetting USC), that would pit my team vs Cari's team and at the end of the day we both know who would win that(UM would). You know it Cari. They're clutch, and Texas is big game chokers.  But of course for this match up to happen they're still those perfect scenarios that have to play out the rest of the way.

Well I saw Bill Maher perform in Miami this past Saturday night.  It was interesting.  All in all I would give it a B+.  Here are some of the highlights:

-He called Barbara Bush a cunt.  Then a lady said be polite and he said Fuck you lady and the audience burst out laughing.

-He said it's unfair to compare Vietnam and Iraq, In Vietnam and least George Bush had an exit strategy.

-He also mentioned that for seven minutes George Bush was reading to school children(on 9/11) and said that he should of been on top of the situation right away.

-He also mentioned George Bush's low approval rating and said what does he have to do to boost it run over Dakota Fanning in his pickup.

-He said Bill Clinton was a man of the people who dated really ugly women.

-Also he mentioned the one thing he hates about religious people is that they have no doubt in them what so ever(of course everyone knows he isn't a big fan of religion).

-He mentioned people say he doesn't like his country, and he said no I don't like the people who are in control of it.

-Ok here's the final one, he said the democratic party was the party of no ideas and the republican party is the party of stupid ideas.

Of course that's not all, but I can't remember every joke he said in the entire 85 minute show.  I didn't laugh at all of them I thought for the most part he was good. Not all of the jokes I mentioned I agreed with, but I liked most of them.  Just like I said I would go back to hear Bill O'Reilly speak again I would do the same for Bill Maher.  Some of you would probably think it's distasteful(like Cari), but I know people like Carola would enjoy Maher's routine immensly.  Like I said it's all a matter of taste.  Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend.

  •   Well in California Proposition 73 was defeated by about 5% (52.6%:  No  47.4%: Yes). Anyone surprised well maybe not California is a very liberal state.  I guarantee it would have passed in states like Texas, Alabama,  Mississippi, or my home state Florida.  What is it do you ask?  Well in essence it would've required  notification of the parent or legal guardian of an unemancipated, pregnant minor at least 48 hours before performing an abortion on the minor.  A Yes vote would've changed the California Constitution so it would require that a physician notify, with certain exceptions, a parent or legal guardian of a pregnant minor at least 48 hours before performing an abortion. That didn't happen so the No vote which was the result says minors would continue to receive abortion services to the same extent as adults.  Physicians performing abortions for minors wouldn't be subject to notification requirements.  Of course I disagree, though I do think 17 years old isn't what it used to be(there more mature), but a 13 or 14 year old I don't think so.  California I feel is in the wrong, but your going to get measures like this that wouldn't pass in most other states because there not as liberal as California.  By the way just because I mention liberal in a negative connotion several times doesn't mean I have anything aganist that ideology, I respect both liberal and conservative view points.  Not extreme ones though.

Here's just several things I thought I share about me.

-I think my most undervalued quality is my ability to help people with their problems.

-I'm a very stubborn at times.

-I hate it when people bullshit me about what they think of me.

-I once played Monty Hall from Let's Make a Deal when I was young.

    -I hate skiing(trust me I've tried).

-My favorite drink is Mountain Dew.

-I hate flying over water(don't ask why I know it's stupid).

Hope everyone has a good weekend and I'm really interested in what you think about Propostion 73.  Have fun and talk to you soon.

  •   Good results from the game Miami beat up on Virginia Tech. The game really wasn't even close, 27-7, now were #3 in one poll(leap froging Alabama) and #4 in the other.  One set back losing top running back Sinorce Moss for the year, oh well got to make due with what we have and that's Charlie Jones and he didn't look that bad Saturday.  Our defense was awesome, I would like to see USC, Texas, or Alabama shut Virginia Tech's explosive offensive like that down. Anyway national championship hopes still alive, just hope to go undefeated in our last three games(toughest game is at home aganist Georgia Tech) so that's not bad, and if we do it's the rematch aganist Florida State in the ACC Championship game(I smell revenge from earlier this year!).  The only hope then is for two of three teams to lose so we can play in the championship game(The Rose Bowl).  Alabama looks like the one candidate(they play LSU and Auburn), and either USC or Texas have to lose.  Ok maybe it won't happen but college football is unpredictiable and anything can happen.

Is it just me or do I feel like I'm the only person in my Media class who likes Bill O'Reilly.  Everyone for some reason has something aganist him, they say he's either rude or mean or he's some type of bully and all he does is tell his guests to shut up.  Well I guess by watching Outfoxed they got that perception, but he is way more than that.  He's an accomplished journalist whose done good news stories about child predators getting lenient sentences, he was a strong proponent of the 9/11 families getting their money from the celebrity telethon after the American Red Cross had botched it up.  I know there are conservatives in my class(I don't know how many) but none of them seem to hold him in a good favor or they just feel like saying nothing at all when his name is mentioned.  I feel like I'm the only one defending him and I feel like I shouldn't be the only one.  I don't agree with everything he says but I respect his accomplishments and what he has done with his show and the books he's written.  So as O'Reilly says let's say you.

  • Hey all, did you guys hear about what happened this past Tuesday Democrats lead by minority leader Harry Reid envoked Rule 21 to have the Senate go into closed session. Reid's reason was anger over what he said is stalling tactics by the Senate Intelligence Committee lack of progress on the report, called Phase 2, which is the use of Intelligence in the lead up to the Iraq war.  Of course one of the main reasons for doing so is the indictment of Lewis Libby, Dick Cheney's chief of staff(although he is innocent until proven guilty).  On the speech on the Senate floor Reid said the American people and U.S. troops deserved to know the details of how the United States became engaged in the war.  He also went on to say, "The Libby indictment provides a window into what this is really about, how the administration manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to sell the war in Iraq and attempted to destroy those who dared to challenge its actions."  Majority leader Bill Frist was upset saying this was a personal slap in the face and saying it would be hard to trust him(Reid) again.  Basically they agreed to independent panel of three Republicans and three Democrats to see if intelligence on the run up to the war was misused or they lied about in any manner.  My opinion I disagree about the war but this is a waste of time.  The intelligence Bush got was bad he didn't lie about it in anyway.  He may have gone in there unnecessarily and we do have to say til the mission is complete, but Bush didn't lie to get us in to war.  Just accept the fact he got lousy intelligence and move on.  This is a waste of the public's time.  I bet liberals have a different opinion so let me have it if you will!

The big game is tomorrow, Miami vs Virginia Tech, 7:45 pm.  This is the game to see if Miami still has a chance at playing in the championship game.  They lose it's just another bowl game; so alot rides on tomorrow.  Update you in a couple of days. Finally this is a fun site to go to, I found this out on Hannity and Colmes last night, it was a website that features the comic book LIBERALITY FOR ALL #1:  www.accstudios.com .  Hope you enjoy it have a fun weekend.

  • Let there be power.  Yes at 9:43 pm today power was restorted to our house here in Boca Raton.  In case you thought I abandoned you think not.  Hurricane Wilma with category 2 winds knocked out power last Monday at 7:30 am and the biggest damage it did was blow the entire screen that surrounded the pool off.  Besides that I made out ok.  I was going stir crazy with the power off this long. Classes were cancelled of course(they resume this week).  One local station 94.3 in southern Palm Beach county kept my sanity with callers calling in and a blend of seriousness and humor its been a savior.  I got through it mentally I don't think I'm staying if it's higher than a Category 2 next time I'm leaving.  I'm back and you know you missed me.  Come on admit you were missing my sense of humor and great political entries, anyway sorry about leaving you circumstances beyond my control prevented me from being in Xanga.  Anyway I'm back and come on you missed me admit it.  By the way what do you think of Bush's new Supreme Court nominee?

October 23, 2005

  •   Well I'll keep it simple and short.  Looks like Hurricane Wilma is on her approach and will be here tomorrow morning, probably at category 2 winds.  Anyway I bet you people who live in the middle of the United States feel lucky you don't have to deal with this stuff.  Though you people on the west coast have it worse with earthquakes.  But people on the coast especially in Florida and the surrounding states have to deal with this all summer, this year like last year is no exception.  Though last year was worse, we'll see about Wilma, hope for the best.  Probably be ok, it's going to race in here and race out so who knows.  Enjoy yourself everyone and I hope you're having a good weekend.
