As I expressed to someone fall sure is busy. It's busy especially for us college students. We have a million things that consume us sometimes we go stir crazy. We don't have time for the usual casual schedule we so love to have, which is usually over the summer. Right now it feels like everyone has to do 500 push-ups nonstop. That's how it is; it is though the reality of the situation for better or worse. It's harder to keep in contact with others which sucks. But I guess it's the reality of it. Trust me I still have my sense of humor, though I feel at times I'm starting to lose it. Oh a question is it just me or am I the only person who thinks conservatives don't participate in political classes, it's not a knock on them. To me it's a bit frustrating I've taken about four political classes in college and practically all of the people who take part in the class discussion are liberals. Though a couple are conservatives, but that has been the minority. I've taken part, but I'm neither conservative or liberal. It's just frustrating I like to hear both points of view, but I feel like I only hear one. Sometimes believe it or not I feel like I have to play the role of a conservative to actually hear their point of you. When I'm in a class it's nice to hear the liberal viewpoint. But where is the other side, it is baffling. There viewpoint is just as valid and I would like to hear it. There is more than one point of view to anything especially in politics and it's frustrating that you can't hear the other side. Who knows maybe I'm in the minority and maybe it's just the college I'm at. Take care everyone and don't be afraid to come up for air in these busy time. Don't suffocate wouldn't want to lose any of my Xanga subscribers.![]()

Who thinks these current scandals going on in Washigntion have an validity or do you think there hogwash? The scandals I'm talking about range from Tom Delay, Bill Frist, and Karl Rove. Frist's charges are very petty and there's nothing to them. Delay, well the DA Ronnie Earle did say at a Democratic fundraser that he was going to get Tom Delay. He's gone after the same amount of Republicans as he has Democrats. Even though he's being charged and it might damage him maybe politically he won't be convicted. Rove is a little more complicted, I think we can rule out the fact that the charges of him outing a CIA operative, but the charges seem to be based on perjury. You have two reporters who will testify Judith Miller and Matt Cooper. Scooter Libby will testify as well. This has possibily the most damaging implications, it's complicated and he could very well be convicted, I'm not sure, though I do think it might politically hurt him and the Republican base. By the way for you Hilary Clinton fans and nonHilary Clinton fans, there are two books that are out. For you Hilary fans there's the book The Case for Hilary Clinton by Susan Estrich and for you nonHilary Clinton fans, Dick Morris has a book called Condi vs Hilary, a book about how Codelezza Rice could beat Hilary in a presidential matchup in 2008. Take your pick one tells why she could win(Estrich's book) and the other is one in which she could be defeated. I'm not the biggest Hilary fan but she sure is an intriguing figure, mostly because she's married to Bill Clinton. The 2008 election may be 3 years away but the case for Hilary and the case to beat her is already taking into effect.

Well I've had a sucky week. Sorry if I've been ignoring my usual subscribers to my site lately; it's not personal and I'm sorry if I haven't kept in contact with you. Anyway I don't know how to describe my week. I'm not getting along with a friend of mine, I got mad at my Spanish teacher, plus I have a condition that people pitied and I hate that. I don't even think I'm making sense or if I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Things will work themselves out they always seem to. I know quit depressing us, if I wanted to get depressed I would watch the news(I'm sure your saying that). Trust me I still have my sense of humor and I'm not afraid to use it on any of you. Anyway on to some quirky political stuff.
I woman wearing a t-shirt of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney got booted off Southwest Airlines. The shirt was a play on words taken from the movie "Meet the Fockers". It had all those words on there except the last which was changed to the F-word, so the lady got the boot. Freedom of speech or going to far you can decide for yourself. Also remember the woman Ashley Smith who convinced former courthouse gunman Brian Nichols to release her by talking about her faith, well it ends up in her new book "Unlikely Angel", that she also gave him crystal meth. When Nichols asked her for marijuana, she didn't have any, so she gave him crystal meth. It ended up that she was a drug addict and she says she hadn't used drugs since the night before she was taken captive. It ended up it helped calm Nichols down. Interesting hey. Still we should not take away the bravery of this fine woman.

I always think of myself as someone with a sense of humor, but it's a different type of sense of humor. Some of you may have seen it, but I don't laugh at the typical things, I do sometimes, but for the most part no. My sense of humor is something that's different not everyone can catch on to it. But it's different. Anyway the point of all this is I don't think there is nothing wrong with a "different" sense of humor. Most people in my classes laugh at things, that I say to myself, what how's that funny? I always look it as most people who don't think I have a sense of humor, don't have one of there on. So it doesn't offend me if they say lighten up, get a sense of humor, I ignore them because I know they don't have one. We all need a sense of humor it helps you get through the tough times as well. Hopefully you all have one, I try, I think I do and for the people who think I don't well you can.. I'm joking, you can think what you want. But at the end of the day let's hope to lighten up sometimes and laugh your ass off(not literally).

Hi all. My Red Sox take game one of there series aganist the Yankees. So there tied with 2 games to go. Baring a one game playoff. Of course they could sneak in the wild card if Clevland falters aganist Chicago in the next two games. I want first place and I don't want the Yankees in the playoffs. I hate the Yankees and let them watch from the sidelines for once. Plus it would be nice to see the Red Sox win it again, of course last year was so amazing and all especially coming back and defeating the Yankees from a 3-0 decefit. I'll see, I hope for the best if they falter and aren't in the playoffs, well I'll think about that later.
Anyway several political notes, John Roberts got nominated with a 78-22 vote(all the no votes were Democrats). Anyway he basically was replacing a conservative in Rehenquist so that's not surprising. But Bush is likely to pick a strong conservative to replace Sandra Day O'Connor, but O'Connor was a moderate so it will be a much tighter vote than Roberts vote. The nominee will still get approved because Republicans control 55 of the 100 Senate seats. The only question is by how much will the margin be. Time will tell.
Also Judge Alvin Halberstein ruled that the Pentagon had to release the Abu Grahib photos. The Pentagon didn't respond to the ruiling. Anyway what a ridiculous ruiling, we've been through this Abu Grahib saga before, we've seen the stories, why do we have to relieve it again for no reason. It was wrong at the time and we rightly went after the people who did the wrong doing, it was a disgusting action and we dealt with it. The disgusting organization ACLU are all for this ruiling, what else is new they are always on the side of the wrongdoers not the victims. Do you remember them sticking up for NAMBLA for the murder of the 9 year old child Jeffrey Curley. That's beside the point. But in all likelihood the Supreme Court will overrule the decision. Anyway I feel it's wrong. Hope everyone's doing well. I got schoolwork to do and I'll check in with you in the beginning of the week. Hope you all are doing great and you all are enjoying life. It's ok for me, nothing exiciting. Until later see ya.

Hey all I guess my surveys that I do are getting a bit boring from the looks of it(any of you think so?). Anyway do you consider yourself a daring individual? Someone asked me what is the most daring thing that I've ever done, and I couldn't think of anything because I consider myself to be a very cautious person. I guess the most daring thing I've done is going on Xanga and chatting with you guys, that's a joke. Anyway I am so cautious if something has just a little danger in it I play it safe. Ok say it I'm a weanie, you know you want to say it. Maybe I over do it by not taking any chances but it's who I am, in life I'm a very conservative person in terms of doing stuff, I say better to be safe than sorry. I guess a response to that would be your not living life. Maybe a little but I can't change who I am at least this part of myself. By the way we all have irrational fears, one of mine is flying over water, I'll never do it, don't ask me why but I just do. I went on a trip to the Bahamas one time, but that was by cruise. Besides that nothing much is going on I've taken two exams and done a presentation in the past week with my classes and I basically take it day by day, but that's just me. But I know you guys still like me no matter what quirky qualities I have, how can't you not resist my great sense of humor and well you nowhere I'm going. Take care and remember one thing no matter how we go about life no matter if we get to our destination by unusual means if were a good person at heart then we know we're going to succeed. Isn't that a great philosophy lol. Take care Xangites.

If your talking politics in class with someone else do yourself a favor, don't overreact. I did the other day and it was a little embarassing and a tad rude. More than anything the way I reacted to the person was a sense of I made her felt like she was totally clueless in what she was talking about, that I knew way more about politics(which I don't) than she did. She made a comment Monday that Clinton trashed Bush during the weekend, and I said no he didn't. If that was the worst part I wouldn't of felt bad, but later I made a very rude comment that I didn't think she knew anything about politics. Which was totally and way out of line. I felt so guilty the rest of the class, I did end up apologizing at the end of class(I hope she accepted my apology). Anyway I'm sure most of you think I'm the rudest person in the world I'm not I actually respected her desent, but what I said came out wrong. I'm not normally like that and I really and honestly felt bad! I learned from my mistake and I hopefully you will not follow it. We all have a right to our opinion in this country.
Did any of you see the Phil Donahue vs Bill O'Reilly shoot out on The O'Reilly Factor? Probably the highlight was when Donahue asked him would you send your son or daughter to fight in Iraq and O'Reilly got angry and said I have a nephew who is fighting over there and he was very blunt and was very mad at the way Donahue was acting. Also Donahue mentioned Jeremy Glick(someone who I thought should of been booted off the show when he appeared) and was talking about the way that interview went down, O'Reilly backed up his position. That's some of the highlights. If you saw it tell me what you think. Donahue's positions are a bit out there and O'Reilly's anger was real so as O'Reilly would say to you let's say you.

Ok I'm a little late in my analysis here of George Bush's speech, but here goes. This was a typical George Bush speech, one consisting of big government and free market conservative solutions to the storm. He also mentioned that he wouldn't raise taxes. His speech to many observers, they said sounded more like Lyndon Johnson or Franklin Roosevelt. Some of his programs like the Worker Recovery Accounts and the Gulf Opportunity Zone Program, programs based on free enterprise. My problem with it is where is he going to get the money. He never outlined where he is going to get it from. He wants a bigger role for the federal government, gee that will be fun. The federal government has already failed in this disaster to begin with what makes you think they'll help this time. For the city, I hope it does, but I'm skeptical to say the least. All in all ok speech nothing special, time will tell if the things he says will help Lousiana and Mississippi rebound from this great disaster.
I cut that short for a reason, I was listening to Bill Clinton on Larry King and I was so amazed. I heard him talking about various things more importantly his Clinton Global Initiative summit being held starting Friday to this Sunday(today). Anyway what I was amazed by was all that he wants to do for this country. Take off your ideology cap for a second. To me Bill Clinton is a very important person in our political landscape and someone we need. The things he's tackling as ex-president are amazing. At this summit alone some of the goals being discussed are poverty, religious conflict, global warming, and stamping out corruption. We can't forget his work in the battle aganist AIDS. But the summit is quite fascniating and important. He as ex-president has gotten issues and tackled them well. I probably have written about his post presidency in one of my earlier posts. But I couldn't get away with discussing what he's doing this weekend at his summit. Everyone should pay attention to this summit whatever your ideology is. If you want to find out more about his summit go to:
www.clintonglobalinitiative.org
Trust me you'll be impressed. Anyway I have alot of homework and stuff to finish up so I'll hear from you soon and always remember to keep a sense of humor
; I always do.

I feel like such a bonehead today I confused the times of my classes and I ended up being late. I confused my 6 pm Spanish class with the class I take today Issues in American Politics which is at 5:30 pm (I also take it Thursday). I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this or at least I hope I'm not. By the way anyone who has appeared on this site knows which class I have to take and the class that I enjoy. By the way I always like new vistors to my site I'm always doubting whether people like coming or not. But that's just me being a tad sensitive, trust me if there's one fault of mine it's my sensitivity.
Anyway tonight George Bush will address the nation at 9 pm tonight from New Orleanes the site of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. People (mostly the media) tend to forget about the destruction in Mississippi that will take years to rebuild. Of course Louisana had the most destruction, but go over to Mississippi and there life is in shambles as well. So this hurricane to me is not a one state storm its a two state. We the people know that to bad the media is clueless to it. Though I will say Joe Scarbourough has done a great job covering what fellow Mississippians have gone through he is one of the few who hasn't forgotten. Anyway on to the speech(I'll give analysis of it either tomorrow or Saturday), he will focus on issues like education, health care, and housing. He'll probably get into as well the impact of the Hurricane and the failures of relief from the state and local as well as government. Alot of people are saying it's one of his most important speeches. Bush has taken responsibility for mistakes made, so has the governor. Basically I wonder what you want to hear, what do you want Bush to say? To me Bush is in a make or break spot and only he controls where his fate is, either good or bad. If he screws up he can't blame anybody but him, but if he succeeds then he should get a pat on the back. Me I'm very skeptical, Bill O'Reilly said he can either become a great president or go down in the likes of Harding and William Taft. Who knows maybe this speech will be an indicator.
